Radio Amani is a community radio for peace Building in the larger Nakuru region. Broadcasting from Nakuru and its environs, Radio Amani aims to reach its listeners with quality nonpartisan programmes that promote peaceful co-existence and harmony in Nakuru county.

Radio Amani targets urban, pre-urban and the rural fold in the Nakuru County.Our frequency is 88.3 Fm in Nakuru although we are planning to reach out to the communities in Kabarnet, Kericho and the entire Rift Valley. With a broadcast radius of 95 kilometers in an area emerging locally owned media, Amani FM has already market. Our broadcast style brings not only programmes, news and entertainment for the listener but also a sense of ownership in the community.

We cover the whole of Nakuru town, Njoro, Elbagon, Molo, Egerton, Mogotio, Kinungi, Gilgil, Naivasha, Mauche, Narok, Kinangop, Nyandarua, Bahati, Subukia, Kerusoi and Olenguruone.

Amani broadcasts predominately Swahili therefore reaching a cumulative audience of up 600,000 people in one day’s programming. Our broadcasting format largely focuses on current affairs, social issues, commerce and entertainment.

Radio Amani brings into market a unique and unifying programming theme of religious where every morning, evening and predominantly weekends, we play special selections of Christian music, Catholic Holy mass  everyday Monday to Friday and on Sundays.

With our format of bringing on board very recognized religion, we insure that at the end of any week, a good percentage of all of our listeners have been targeted. In addition we have programmes for children in primary schools, teenagers in secondary schools, the youth in and out of school and special formats targeting the working class and housewives.

The Radio Amani format and style of presentation and broadcast caters for diverse interest groups from the decision makers, business leaders, opinion leaders and politicians, youth and junior listeners hence bringing the whole spectrum of society on board. By choosing Swahili as our language in the ethnically diverse Rift Valley we are able to reach all segments of society in a language they can all identify with.
